Nuclear Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sort of expected. I had an interview on Jan 17. The POI said that another professor is retiring next year so he is taking his students but was interviewing me for the grad committee. They only have 2 people in reactor physics (1 of them is retiring). High grad and undergrad GPA, 8 journal publications in strong journals (3 first author), 7 conf papers and abstracts, h-index: 6, and several independent projects with nearly $700k in revenue.

Chemical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Almost 4.0 GPA, high GRE, years of part-time research, one summer full-time research, one summer industry, a lot of clubs and volunteering, some entrepreneurship, some arts. I'm so excited it's my dream school!!!

Electrical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology I also was waitlisted with 50 others. The email pretty much said there is a low chance of being accepted so I should make other plans for graduate school.
