3 summers + of research experience. No pubs (working on one) , probably above average LOR but cant be sure - observational astro - first acceptance after several rejects - surprised and excited!

Contacted by Professor not mentioned in my SoP for "video chat".

1 first-author paper from highly respected international conference, 1 patent and 1 defensive publication from co-op terms. 3 years of research, 4 co-op terms; finishing MASc at a top Canadian university. Oh well, was a bit of a long shot anyway, and the tuition fees would have been ruinous if I'd gotten an offer without financial aid. Congrats to those who got in :)

Will probably accept.

A professor at MIT I know informed me that this year most graduate student spots are awarded in gravitational physics and less spots are available in other fields. His guess is the same might be true for other schools which are involved in this field. Sucks if you're CME like me...

To the poster below... I was interviewed last week and I know they would also hold interviews this week. I was told, however, that they could take another month to reach the final decision.
