Incredibly kind call from the DGS. Go Ducks!

Received an email to check portal.

Got an e-mail from the chair of the graduate admissions committee that the department recommended me for admission, and now have to wait for GSAS's formal admission.

No interview.

3.975 undergrad GPA from another UW system school, one publication in my school's undergraduate research journal, some research and tutoring experience (did an undergrad thesis, worked as an RA for a prof from a different field, had a few tutoring/teaching-adjacent jobs on campus). no GRE. applied to the english MA with the intent to continue to PhD. research fit was ok but not the highest so im thinking that might be part of why i got rejected. 0a/1r/0w/0i/7p

Selected for on-site visit Feb 16 and 17th to meet with faculty and students.

Admitted without interview.

Passed first round of review, next they will try to match with faculty and find first year of funding per email

Received the e-mail this morning. Seems to be an unofficial letter(no funding information). I submitted my application on 12.1 and received the confirmation e-mail on 12.15. I heard from the program coordinator that although the applications submitted before 12.1 11:59 pm est were considered in the early batch, the committee would have two separate meetings to discuss them based on the received time(maybe too many applicants). The first meeting(round) will allocate space for the second one and the whole process is fair. I am in the second round and lucky enough to get the offer.

Accepted to a way better school, feel bad about wasting my application fee.
