Graduate School Admission Results

Asked for additional info/MCAT plan of action and for updated resumé with hours listed. Said I could be waiting until August 2021

The official response came 9 pm at night. Straight out of undergrad, English background, 3 years of Arabic, no Middle East internship/work experiences (yet). Waiting for a rejection/acceptance off of the waitlist, should be coming in the next couple of weeks.

TPB: if you get both, please take UC Irvine :). Georgetown is my only option!

Is anyone declining offers in these two? From the email exchange I've had with them, I think I have a chance. Thank you in advance!!

Received welcome email from Department Chair (have not received official letter of acceptance/notification of funding yet). Non-CS UG, took 7 CS classes at local state school (4.0 GPA in CS classes). Research experience in Network Systems and Algorithmic Game Theory. Strong SOP and strong/decent LOR (guessing). No publications. Still waiting on Columbia and Brown. Good luck to everyone!

I received an email from the director of admissions welcoming me to the program and an attached 40% merit aid award letter. No email from the grad school itself as of yet and no update to the portal. I received an informal email on 22 March that I posted earlier. I have 4 years of relevant experience and went to a small-mid size private undergrad.

I applied one month before the deadline without a GRE and a 3.1 GPA. Five years of work experience. The COVID-19 pandemic sparked my desire to get back into school and pursue a career in national security. My essays reflected that. That, and the recommendations, carried me this far. Close, but no cigar (yet). The SSP community were really supportive during the application process.

Got accepted with funding. US masters degree, 1pub, average cgpa and GRE. Strong SOP and LOR. 1.5 year relevant working experience in a research organization.

TTPB reply: I have been in constant touch with my advisor there. I have asked 3 grad students from Georgetown. They had a severe funding crunch. Do you have news otherwise?

TTPB: What is your justification for the statement they only admitted 5 students? This seems not true...

They took in 5 PhD students. Can't believe it 😂

I hadn't heard back, so I emailed the admissions director inquiring about my status, and she let me know that I had been accepted and would receive my formal email and letter in the application portal soon, which is not updated as of yet. Additional details: I have a bachelors degree in Public Relations & Strategic Communication at a small private college and I have four years of Intel experience with a combat deployment in the military.

Disappointed since this was my first choice :'(
