Business (finance), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Do you mind sharing the content of email? and from whom you got it (prof or staff)? I wonder whether they sent out rejection at once or just sending it one by one. Thanks.

Finance And Economics, Cambridge College Received an email from Joanna telling me they have made a short list out of all wait listed applicants. She said I was in the short list and asked me if I was still interested or if had taken a place somewhere else. I said I already had accepted another offer, good luck to those still waiting!

Finance, Northwestern University It could be possible that the financial economics program results in more admissions (i.e. they still aim for 6 to enroll in the finance program, but 4-5 to enroll in financial economics). For instance, look at Booth's joint program. They currently have 25 finance students and 19 financial economics students. I don't know the size of the booth program prior to the start of the joint program, but both programs seem pretty large. Not sure what Northwestern will decide though.
Also: they do admit 15 students (obviously some do go through the waitlist) http://www.tgs.northwestern.edu/documents/program-statistics/F05PH_adm_enr.pdf
