Ignore status. Was wondering if anyone has heard anything. If you look at the historical record from this program in previous years all of the admission decisions had been released on the same day or at most a day apart. Yet the two posts below there is an acceptance on the 9th and a rejection on the 14th? Is this a silent rejection? It just seems strange given the record from previous years for this program being so consistent. Let me know if anyone has heard anything.

Rejected by e-mail. This was my first-choice school for studying digital media and storytelling.

Rejection with a memorandum. The first suggestion is increasing work experience. So I guess that work experience may be an important admission criterion.

Applied to joint/allied disciplines program with sociology. Email to check portal - knew this was coming after not getting an interview invite. Oh well! Didn't want to move to North Carolina anyway lol

Fulbright applicant, 2 years experience, no gre

hep-th: I just now mailed my 1st priority prof at Santa Barbara to ask about my application. He said he is not taking any students, and most likely other hep-th profs are also not taking this year "due to lack of available positions.". It costs 140 USD. 2 other universities could have been applied with that money. They have good hep-th professors but they did the same thing last year or the year before that. :(
