Admitted but waitlisted for funding. One of my top choices so I'm certainly holding my breath now!!

I’m not sure if I actually am accepted or not. Received email from Steve, the graduate program director. Has anyone been accepted WITH full funding? Part of the email: “You have been admitted to our graduate program. While we very much hope to recruit you to our program, you are currently on our waitlist for funding. Because of equity considerations, only fully funded students are offered full admissions to our Ph.D. program. We have very limited departmental funds available for funding packages with an extremely competitive admissions pool. As graduate director, I will apply for additional funding from other funding sources university wide. This typically takes several weeks to sort out. While I cannot guarantee funding at this time, it is important to note that we frequently go through the waitlist to construct our incoming cohort. As graduate director, I will be in close contact with you throughout the admissions process. You should feel free to contact me at any time to learn more about our program and our admissions process. ”

Masters GPA 3.97 from this university’s criminology program. Letters of rec were from professors in the department. It’s okay, I did hear during interview they were unsure about funding this year. Good luck to others!

They didn’t even email me. I just happened to check the portal and saw the very generic note. 1a/1wl/4r/3p

Exciting! However, I already accepted an offer from another program so I will be declining their offer. Best of luck if you’re on the WL! 5a/4r/6p
