(Computer Science, The University of British Columbia I've tried so much, including writing some emotional emails to the professors in charge of the admission committee, not to mention networking with potential supervisors in the very beginning of the application. I understand that I am not academically excellent (but still adequate), but how can they ignore the passion and ambition of a young man like this. All the replies I got are like robots, nothing human like. I even start to doubt that how inactive the education system is .

Management Science And Engineering (MS&E), Columbia University (Fu Foundation) To the post below: Are you sure they said Mid-April? Most of the colleges have a April 15th Deadline though. Also, did anyone else hear anything from the department?

Journalism And Computer Science, Columbia FFSEAS 3.5 years industry experience (1.5 in media consulting, 2 doing data science related work). Math major from top liberal arts school. Writing samples, SOP, and LORs were pretty strong, I think. Will hear about funding "soon". Very very very excited (exhorbitant costs notwithstanding)!!

Computer Science, Columbia College Rejected from PhD a few weeks back, asked if I wanted to apply for MS. "If you are still interested in being considered for the MS program, please submit a one-page statement by Friday, April 8th, 5pm (NY time) addressing how Columbia's MS program would help you realize your educational and career goals." Presumably they intend to admit at least some more people, so don't give up yet!
