Archaeology focus

End of last year, DGS required me to take the additional TOEFL exam for the requisite TA.(Speaking section 26) I already took several tests to make the score. But, regardless of the noticement or anything, they just gave me rejection. I thought it was a great fit.

Received an interview invite and interviewed today via zoom.

Received email invite from a professor (not one I mentioned in my SOP) to interview via Zoom. I applied for sociocultural anthro

I expected this, my SOP was terrible. I shouldn't have applied. Onwards!

Archaeology track, GPA is from M.A. in anthro from a different program. Proposed supervisor emailed me to let me know that "we will most likely not have a spot for you next year." FYI, the professor who emailed me stated that the department will be accepting fewer PhD students than usual this year, and that they are "probably only admitting one" archaeology student.
