Graduate School Admission Results

To the previous poster applying for Berkeley's Psych: Check your spam (especially if you use gmail), my friend and I both got rejection letter in the spam.

I applied to the social-personality/developmental psychology PhD and I still haven't heard back. It seems like many (rejected or getting interviews) have heard back in the last week or so... some have said that all emails for interviews have been sent out. Does anyone have any idea why I still haven't heard back? What could that mean? Wishing you all the best and success in your future. Have a wonderful New Year.

Honestly very surprised considering I've never published and am only a senior undergrad. I reached out to the PI back in September to chat about research interests, so I expect that had something to do with it.

Having 5 publications (3 first author) and other 4 papers in preparation. Summer exchange experience at Berkeley. Met the PI two years ago. Having my own scholarship but still got rejected.

Email saying that all potential applicants have been contacted. Quite disappointed. 2 years of research experience, 2 publications (both as 1st author), a bunch of international working experience, fantastic LORs.

Mass email. Check your spam folder if you haven't received an interview invite or the mass email.

Expected. Got this information through the E-mail. I was told that at this time, all potential students have been invited to an interview and those who weren't invited are unlikely to have an admission and I didn't get an interview, so...

Expected. They received 700+ application.

All interview offers have been sent. Email from department said I didn't get one.

General rejection email from the department stating that all applicants who have been invited for interviews have been contacted. I had applied to work with QZ.

Has anyone who applied to cognitive psychology been contacted for interviews?

TTPB for Social Psych: do you mind sharing PI's initials?

Phone call from POI (he left four missed calls before i noticed lol whoooops), fifth acceptance (umn, u del, uiuc, umich) Undergrad research since freshman year at a top university + 4 summers of research + 3 summers of industry internships. 1 term TAing, 3 publications (1 first author). LORs from three profs i've done research with — one well known in chem, one well known in chemE, one not well known but i have a very strong relationship with.
