they gave their first admission letters. but there is a chance here for us that don't get admission. if someone rejects his offer, they give admission to us.

honestly in shock!! 3.9 grad GPA. 2 year predoc at top 5. 1 year field RA.

TTLPB: I agree with you. Applying to grad school, especially top ones, could be very frustrating. I am grateful to have such a place where we can see results in live-action as well as those from previous years. Certainly better than waiting for responses blindly. Grad Admission Committees sometimes hold rejection letters to the very last minute and it does not feel great from the perspective of applicants. The least we could do, as applicants, is to try to work together and provide accurate information for each other.

@below, because posting that you got rejected on a day when you haven't yet (and perhaps will be placed on a waitlist) defeats the purpose of posting in the first place. This website exists for anonymous posters to give information to future applicants (including the day that said rejections/acceptances/waitlists/interview requests actually come out!) not for individuals like yourself to show everyone that you have "given up hope" - no one even knows who you are... this site is anonymous! (I didn't apply to Berkeley and have no "false hope", it just sort of bugs me when people do this. I hope this does not come off as angry, just trying to voice my opinion)

Got an email from PI who interviewed me asking to call me. Acceptance letter will come in (a few?) weeks

@below If someone hasn't gotten an email the 3rd-5th they are rejected as noted by several others on here. Why hold false hope?

I agree with the last guy, if we haven't received anything we were rejected.

I am sad. Everyone is holding out to get admitted. But they probably already sent out all of the admits so there is no point to clinging to hope. We were rejected. Had an interview too. :(

Chem and CompSci double major. Diverse research experience. Fellowship and GSR position in the offer letter.

Did the interview last week, got a phone call from faculty today.

Email from the committee. Area: AI / Theory. One informal interview.

To the person asking for the MS in Civil Engineering. I would advise contacting the faculty in charge of your program. I applied for the MS CE w concentration in Geotech and I already heard back from the admission officer. Still not an official admission on my portal. Also, I did not submit GRE scores
