Graduate School Admission Results

This was surprising. One of the schools I was certain I will get in with my profile. Pretty badly shaken. Best of luck to everyone who got admitted.

Ignore waitlist. Anyone knows why aren't the results for UW Madison coming in? Looking at the past years data - they generally send funding notifications for 3-4 days continuously and then mostly rejects and a small portion of accepts with mostly no funding.

Had two first author publications one of the papers was a top conference in my area (security). I also worked with a professor closely over the summer and we published another paper together that will come out later this year. I had four very good research letters of rec and have been doing research for about 3 years. I came from low ranked university in computer science but made it work.

No Interview. Offer came in ~ 10AM EST.

Got email an at 10 AM EST that had some words on financial support. Area: AI/ML Had previous masters and undergraduate degree in engineering. 2 conference papers in that area. Happy to answer any questions (within reason)

Official letter from the department chair.

Undergrad from Top college(India), 1+ year work experience, CGPA: 9.63/10, 1 publication in A-conference, multiple research project experiences, GRE not needed, TOEFL 105. Really excited about receiving a funded offer.
