Graduate School Admission Results

TTPB - the reason you are yet to hear anything is because they consider their PhD applicants for MS as well, in case the original application is unsuccessful. I had mailed them in August last year explicitly asking whether I would be considered for an MS in case my PhD application is not deemed strong enough, and they replied in affirmative. I had a long shot at a PhD anyway, but just wanted to take a chance without losing out on an MS position in the process.

TTPB (both): I am the one who originally asked: "Has UMD sent out all the Ph.D. admits?". No, I didn't have an interview. I have also not seen any rejections on GradCafe till now and have seen posts of acceptances. Not sure what to expect as it's mid-March.

Yeah I got an interview after the acceptances started going on last month. I still haven't received an offer or rejection

For those of you waiting to hear back from Loyola, and have Reset their password to access the platform, does it say Loyola enrollment? Or anything different? We're supposed to hear back this week! I'm so nervous.

TTPB who mentioned that he / she has seen actual rejections sent out - Where have you seen it? On gradcafe I can only see ~ 25 CS PhD admits and no rejections. Given that not all accepted people report here, doesn't that mean that we are rejected? I also "under departmental review" as current status. Also, did you guys who still haven't got an acceptance or rejection were interviewed?

TTPB: Mine has been sitting on that exact same "UNDER DEPARTMENTAL/PROGRAM REVIEW" for months at this point. I've seen them send out actual rejections, so I'm guessing that we may be silent waitlisted or something.

Has UMD sent out all the PhD admits? I have not heard anything and my status on the application portal is "UNDER DEPARTMENTAL/PROGRAM REVIEW".

Got better offers already; not a huge deal to me

TTPB: I could be wrong but I believe the "we unfortunately do not anticipate being able to make you an offer" letter was not a waitlist and was basically them telling you you are rejected. They also sent out real waitlists that day which was a completely different email. Idk why they made their rejection so ambiguous maybe there is still hope but I doubt it.

Got response from POI that I was not going to be admitted.

GRA- 21K + tuition remission and health insurance. Very very excited. About to accept the offer

Just curious, but did anyone receive an official rejection from this program yet? Or did everyone receive the same standard waitlist email stating a future final decision?
