Ignore waitlist. Has anyone heard back from UC Santa Cruz? I emailed the grad coordinator a week or two ago and they said they're delayed due to the UC grad student strike. Also looking to hear back from UC Riverside if anyone has info on them too.

International. hep-th, MS GPA 3.86, double major with mechanical engineering, 1 publication, 1 thesis. Had financial support (scholarship) that pays for tuition and monthly stipend. Even with a scholarship, it is a rejection.

CM-Th. Got the official notification by email yesterday. I am certain that I will go here if I am accepted, therefore I am once again asking any students who hold an offer from NW and have other offers that suit them better to let the department know asap. Good luck to everyone!

They initially rejected me and then sent me an acceptance. Applied for condensed matter theory. Turned down for another offer.

any update on this? "We have made all our admit and waitlist offers and I'm afraid that you weren't included in those. We had a record number of applications this year and competition was very tough. We haven't sent out rejection letters because there is a very small possibility that we will be able to make some more offers, depending on how many students accept. Sorry to not be able to give you better news." Also please, those who have better offers than cmu, please please reject it. I'm a domestic student, this would help me be close to my grandmom who's not in the best shape. Applied to pitt cos of the same reason even tho it's worse.
