University of California, Berkeley Graduate School Admission Results

Second conversation with the same professor who I spoke to last time (Theory). Reason for the call was to talk about future plans and funding. Wanted to find out if I would be able to join them this year or not (have plans to defer by a year) and where Berkeley was in my preference list of schools. Turns out admits can be deferred but not fellowship offers and the internal situation with funding is complicated. Am optimistic about an admit :)

To the poster below: I'd been "unofficially but definitively" accepted via email a week ago. Still waiting for the official letter. My stats: 3.9 GPA, 860 Math Subject GRE, 2 years' worth of graduate courses as an undergrad, 3 very strong letters of recommendation.

Undergrad GPA: 3.83/4.33, Major GPA: 4.07/4.33, GRE: 800 Math, 550 Verbal, 3.5 Writing, 830 Subject. Research 3 summers and some research for credit during junior year.
