Email from GSAS. Master's GPA 3.9, 2 publications, worked as an RA, great fit.

Ignore waitlist: Has anyone heard back from NYU sociology and Johns Hopkins sociology? The rejection letter is overdue and I wanna move on with my life....

So happy! Acceptance via email with funding package attached.

Received e-mail asking me to check the portal. There it stated a generic Refusal Letter. No problem, McGill isn't marxist enough for my taste

Domestic student, had personal connection with a potential supervisor, 3.89 GPA, strong teaching and research experience and strong references. I was so surprised to be rejected but I was. I hadn't upload an optional personal essay because I was super busy with work, not sure if it was related to that but don't take the chance and write it (it was for of you are a personal of color which I am or if you have other life experiences)

Got rejected from UCSB even though my MA supervisor from Canada knew people and seemed research fits. I got rejected very early in Jan. Didn't submit GRE because it wasn't required.

Ignore waitlist- I am waiting for UBC Sociology department results, program website says results will be out early March but not a word yet. Does anyone know if the status actually changes on application platform?

I was waitlisted by the program roughly a month ago and told that approximately 3-6 students make it off the waitlist, and sometimes students receive offers prior to April 15th. I was granted 5 years of funding as well as a GE position. I applied straight out of undergrad!

Potential supervisor let me know I'm on the WL. Congrats to all who've been admitted! If you have a better option please reject this offer so I can get a chance. GPA is MA.
