Mechanical Engineering Graduate School Admission Results

Hey, anyone got interviewed or got in contact with any professors in the fluids field ?? anyone heard from Prof. Marcus, Prof. Shadden or prof Alam ??

3.5 years working experience Had not taken GRE test IELTS test: reading 8.0, writing 6.0, listening 6.5, speaking: 6.0

I am a bit confused. Good gpa, strong recommendations, 2+ years of research experience during undergrad. I have co-authored 3 articles in good journals as well (IF >5). I come from a top 10 university in my country

We are very pleased and honored that you considered our program for your graduate career, and will do our best to get back to you about your admission status no later than Monday, March 29, 2021."

Accepted with 1-semester teaching assistantship, a 1-semester fellowship and non-resident tuition waiver for whole year. It says here that the non-resident tuition waiver allows non-resident to pay in-state tuition. Does it mean that I still have to pay tuition? And also the TAship doesn't seem to be guaranteed for next semester, so it's very sketchy. I was under the impression that all admitted PhD students are guaranteed to be fully-funded for the whole duration of study. I did have one interview with a professor last month but it didn't go very well. The email only includes funding offer, and they say the admission offer will come later this week. Do I need to find an advisor by myself WHILE doing TA?

TTPB: To the person who received waitlist notification, did you mean they said that the admission decision would be released by next Monday? Did you get any information about their timeline? Thanks

Has anyone who applied strictly to the MS/PhD program (not MEng or PhD) heard back yet? I applied with the intention of a masters but I'm not sure whether my application went into the pool of direct PhD admits instead.

TTPB: I have not received the details of the MS admit day either, I'm glad I'm not the only one 😅 I hope they send it today, and congrats btw! :)

3 great LORs; Involvement in SAE club on campus

4 years of experience as a design engineer, 3.0 undergrad GPA, and did not submit GRE scores. Really good program, but I declined the offer for another institution that I think will be a better fit.

Area: Biomedical engineering. Had interview with prof in December. Background: BSEE in Japan and MSME at top university in the US. No publication.

Accepted. Not funded.

I asked the admin about my application since I didn't hear back from them. They said the review process was running longer than previous year because the increase in the number of applications. They say the decision should be out by the end of March. Buckle up! Good luck to everyone.
