Has anyone heard from the Sociology Dept at Mcgill? My uapply app still says "submitted"

two years of research experience, I agree with previous comments about the nature of rejection being rude and short.

I emailed them to discern my status, they promptly replied that I was on the waitlist. Please let them know if you won't be attending!

I wrote asking the graduate coordinator for the status... and he replied.

I got a email from the DGS telling me that I'm shortlisted among the "hold" pool group (students who the committee was excited about and see as strong candidates, who might be invited for an interview/admission in the future),

Email said there was a large pool of 200+ people for 8 spots.
