applied to PhD, accepted to MA with scholarship

Very nice letter of acceptance with official letter to follow. Explanation that first year MA students are not eligible for TAships but are eligible the second year after taking a composition pedagogy course. Looks like there are tons of other funding opportunities outside of the English department so this is interesting. Good luck everyone!

GPA is MA. I'm honestly not torn up about this one at all. I've got more exciting opportunities on the table to consider. Congrats to those who got in!

Got an email at about 10:30 last night to check the portal. Short but polite rejection letter. Honestly I kept forgetting I'd applied here so the fit obviously wasn't the best lol. GPA is undergrad. 2a/4r/3p

I got an offer from Columbia last night so I won't be taking the offer. BUT! Note for posterity: If you guys want to apply to Oxford but are hesitant because you didn't get a "distinction" on your MA, don't let this stop you from applying!!! I got a "merit" on my Master's and still got an offer. Having a strong research proposal, writing sample, and having identified a suitable supervisor are everything!!! Best of luck everyone :)

Had connected and virtually met with 2 profs--both were interested in my work. The third "big name" prof didn't show much interest so this was expected. So much for doing interdisciplinary work.
