Received email to check my portal. Not surprised — Harvard is one of those places where you get specifically matched with a professor and I never managed to make that connection before submitting my application (and never received an interview). Was accepted to Brown though!

Very happy. I got a call from the department around 2:00PM EST today.

Graduated from UWaterloo, completed 23 CS/Math/Stat courses with an average of 93 and very nice grades in numerical computation courses. My major is Geomatics in Environmental Studies. Four interdisciplinary undergraduate research experiences in Environmental Science and Computing. No publications and no connections with Harvard. Guess my GPA is not high enough to be competitive as well (even though my rank in my undergrad program is 3/51, which seems decent).

Got an email from the admission committee today saying they have recommended me for admission! The formal letter will be published later on the portal in a few weeks. I did my interviews on Feb 9 and 10 and they all went super well. I am so excited!!!!

Guess the GRE didn't matter much, also accepted at Chicago, UCLA, Emory.

They did not take GRE. I can understand why they rejected me, my GPA is not that high. 0 publications. Have a research project but not necessarily real research experience under a professor or something.

GPA (3.94/4.00); 3 degrees in BME (2 bachelor and 1 master); 12 publications (1 in nature (IF= 69)); 2 conference papers; internship at Harvard med school; 6 years of lab work experience They just don't wanna admit it! lollll
