A classic Harvard mass rejection letter release a week after they have released a bunch of acceptance letters. ConGRADulations for all accepted students.

Research in lab as undergraduate. MS in CS, concentration in AI. Research in three different labs during my MS with a MS thesis. TA'd two classes. Three strong letters of recommendation.

After careful review, I regret to inform you that the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is unable to take favorable action on your application to the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in the study of Data Science. The number of promising applicants well exceeded the number of offers of admission we can make for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Applied to the Data Science SEAS program mainly because I had no application fee. No GRE score submitted. Was expecting a reject but happy I tried!
