English Graduate School Admission Results

The very warm and welcoming email is from a scholar whose work I admire in the UCSC English department and is an unofficial recommendation (written in bold for emphasis) of acceptance, NOT an official letter of acceptance. I am honored and beyond grateful. This is my second season, and I was planning to keep trying every year for as long as it takes because my application improves every time I fill out a new one. So thrilled to receive an interview at such a prestigious school!

Getting in here was a major aspiration, and I'm so ecstatic.

Emailed generic rejection "The faculty members have completed their review and have asked me to inform you that you are not being offered admission to graduate studies in English for the coming Fall 2024." It made me unconfident because I haven't heard anything from UIUC either, and I am not receiving interview from Stanford or Upenn, which means that I am not interested by schools from the top AND the buttom of my list. Anyway, this is my first decision so I am grateful :)
