Accepted to MS on Feb. 1 with no funding, rejected from PhD on April 17

Result: Fully funded Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science and Engineering (Tuition waiver + Broad-based scholarship + Health Insurance + Teaching Assistantship). Profile: BS in Computer Science and Engineering from a private university in Bangladesh (CGPA 3.94/4.00). 1 IEE conference publication. 2 years of industry experience as a Software Engineer.

To the person below, I'm also waitlisted there and it's my only chance. However, who told you you're next in the waitlist? They didn't tell me much about how their waitlist work. Did they promise you anything?

I am not surprised about it, as they mostly prefer a Mathematics bachelor's degree. I completed my BS in Computer Science. Anyway, congratulations to those who were accepted. Good luck with their future endeavors.

I haven't received the official rejection yet but I emailed the graduate department at UConn and someone got back to me saying I didn't make the cut.

I emailed head of department to ask about results and received a follow up one day later

Had not heard back so I emailed the office and got a generalized rejection letter as a response

Still no update at this stage wth.

It's the only PhD program that I can afford (financially). If you got a better offer elsewhere and won't go there, it would be greatly appreciated if you could finalize your decision soon.

Heard absolutely nothing until the April 15 deadline, and even then I didnt HEAR anything; no email or anything, I just checked the Admissions portal and there was an update.

Please decline if you have a dominant offer
