Computer Science Graduate School Admission Results

IELTS 8, 8.13/10 GPA, 4 research experience, international

Weird. Received an email from them a month ago saying I was rejected for the MS CS program from admissions office. Received an Update in the portal that I am accepted.

(Ignore waitlist) Is there anyone get response from Columbia when you email them? I asked about application several times but never got the reply.

TTPB: (ignore waitlist) I didn't get any email too. Is there anyone resubmit the application from Fall2020?

Yes, I'm from UT Austin. BSa in Computer Science with a 3.52. Didn't take the GRE, had one internship at a F500 company doing web SWE work and a lot of misc. things like hackathons and projects. I didn't get any email from USC and kept checking my portal... strangely it says the decision was sent May 1 but I only saw it update for me today (May 3).

TTPB: I applied with priority deadline. Did not get any email today from Columbia nor have I heard anything from them since submitting my application in December. Do you know what's going on and if I still have a chance?

TTPB from top 10 large state school - mind sharing your stats please? by any chance are you from UT Austin undergrad?

Applied jan 12 with software engineering internship, fresh out of undergrad

Finally!!! The wait was insane. Applied just before final deadline in January. ~3.5 from large state school in ~top 10 CS programs, internship. Signed up for DEN@Viterbi.

TTPB: what time did you get the email? Stats and date of applying?

Are there any groups for MSCS Fall 21 UIC students?

TTPB: I received an admit to the MS CS program. Maybe you are waitlisted.

Went to the waitlist in the first round and got the offer literally on the second last day. This is my top choice so definitely worth it. I feel super lucky because though I have 3 periods of research experience, I have absolutely no publication. I had strong recommendation letters, and I guess they are the sole element that got me here. Also, my prof is a first-year AP. That also made the application somehow easier. Also received offer from UCSB PhD and Brown MS, which are both very nice. But I prefer the NYU group and the big-city vibe in NYC.

TTPB: I applied for Fall 2021 and submitted everything by the priority deadline.
