As expected, because I have already seen classmates sharing the offers they received in the first round, and the results that were supposed to be announced by March 15th have been delayed, this situation is similar to what happened with UT (where I was later rejected). Throughout this journey, I realized that applying for Master of Arts programs in Canada is quite challenging for undergraduate students from mainland China. The main reasons are the limited quota for international students and the high standards for cultivating prospective doctoral students (similar to the MPhil programs in Hong Kong schools). Compared to the outright rejection from McGill's Thesis program, being placed on the waitlist by UT and UBC is itself an encouragement. Thank you, UBC, for being so supportive!

Multiple years of relevant work experience after college, 4 excellent LORs, received encouraging email responses from multiple professors, no master's. Notified via email notification to check portal.

The email I received communicating my acceptance did not say any information about funding. If anyone has any information about funding at the program it would be appreciated.

I was accepted to the PhD as well, and I had an unofficial acceptance to the masters three weeks ago, so it's not surprising. Offer letters should be up in the portal now!
