Physics Graduate School Admission Results

Very very late email to check rejection letter. Very generic rejection. I was told by someone in physics department that they had less spots this year. Best of luck to everyone else on waitlists.

(Ignore Waitlist) Did anyone still hear back from UF yet. Mine says it is under review and no reply to my mail.

After waitlist, I got rejection on portal today.

(Ignore Waitlist) TTPB: To UCSD person - Same! I saw the "application is being reviewed" thing get removed and thought we would find out but it's been two days since that happened. Best of luck! To Maryland person - I believe I'm in the same boat as you. International, got into a few places but none "great." Good thing is I hear what you do and the connections you make matter more than prestige, so this is by no means damning.

TTPB: Thanks, but I am not waiting for a positive response from UMD. I only want their official decision letter so that this admit season ends for me and I can have some closure :-) I have already accepted another offer at a good but (unfortunately) not "great" university, but I guess I have to take whatever I get, especially as an international student.

Ignore Waitlist. TTPB: I am on the same boat with you and you are probably right. "Your application is being reviewed..." text has been removed from my application portal so I think they will let us know soon.

(Ignore Waitlist). Is it safe to assume anyone that has not received a waitlist email by now is rejected? I have emailed them 3-4 times in the past month to no avail. Please let me know if you have been in touch with them or if you know anything about the final round of decisions.

TTPB: By just contacting prof. Cohen there. There was an active consideration email sent out to many applications (far too many to give us hope, but nobody knew how many it was sent to, at the time) in february, and prof. Cohen confirmed that the last of offers have already been sent out. I received my rejection today but I found out informally on Monday. I'm sorry - you may want to consider other potential options. Good luck with everything! This cycle has been rough.

TTPB: I haven't been notified of anything. How exactly did you people learn about your decisions? I want my rejection damn it, are they going to drag those too?

TTPB, who didn't realize about the late decision and chose another school already, may I ask where you're going? I am having trouble deciding between Vanderbilt and another similar ranked school. So having some insight from others will help me in my decision. Thanks! (I'm in CME/AMO, btw).

What is going on with McGill...!!!! Are they even sending out decisions...!!!!
