AMO experiment. Funny how it seems everyone applied to MIT

Congrats to all who are accepted! Fierce competition this year.

Quantum info theory. Current MIT research staff collaborating with several of the groups I applied to join. Got a raise 3 weeks ago. MIT remains deeply chaotic lol.

Double major in physics/engineering, 14 months equivilent full time research experience across two major projects and several minor projects including one I won funding for, 1 year TA/LA experiencing, 1 publication (not first author), several posters, and senior thesis (unpublished). I think there was a lack of fit between my interests and department research, on top of generally high competition (1700~ people for 40 slots).

A bit surprising since I had a very promising interview in which they said things like "you'd be a perfect fit" but that's OK. I was interviewed for PSFC despite my primary interest being experimental particle physics. Good luck to everyone else!

Got invitation to the Open House. Email says "while we neither make official offers nor admit students until after our Open House, we only invite applicants we are considering for admission" Subfield: Gravitational Physics / No publication, No interview, 2 year research at my college, 2 REU outside of my college

CMX. Received an email telling me that I got accepted!

Ignore waitlist. Anyone know when decisions for HEP-TH/ QIT will be available? I'm seeing people here post decisions for astro/cm.
