Quantum information and quantum optics. Had an interview a few weeks ago. Few publications, posters, conferences, and a patent.

Ignore waitlist. I have seen a few acceptances from University of Maryland. Does anyone got any rejection email? Or any interview. I have applied for hep-th and didn't get any notifications yet. They have informed that they have received around 800 applications. I think their silence means soft-rejection.

The generic rejection letter came in the email. No pub.

Ignore waitlist. Is there anyone who received neither an offer nor a rejection? I was interviewed by an AMO prof three weeks ago and did not receive further email today or yesterday.

unofficial rejection, but since I didn't receive the open house invite I'm pretty sure it means I won't be admitted

Astrophysics. Interview went poorly.

I'm sure essentially all 1700 applicants were qualified, don't take it personally and good luck everyone! CMT, experience in 2 research groups with 2 papers in development. 1 conference, 1 research poster from a very well ranked physics dept.

HEP-Th. One publication. Famous master's institution (non USA).

Conditional offer of admission, no news about funding or college yet.

Double major in physics and math, 4.0 in major courses, 3 years research experience, 2 conferences, 1 pub in progress. :( haven't received a single acceptance yet

Invitation to open house; "To be clear, while we neither make official offers nor admit students until after our Open House, we only invite applicants we are considering for admission" From what I've heard from faculty, this is a very strong indicator of admission, and closer to a "check" than another filter to pass.
