Graduate School Admission Results

Just received the official offer after being on the waitlist. Their last admit declined, so I received the last spot. Just accepted, and I'm so excited!!!

Whole experience was so bizarre... applied priority and they waived my application fee without telling me which was nice. Then they completely ghosted me, so I (politely) emailed twice asking for updates. The first time I got a very rude response back (where they couldn't even spell out complete words... wrote please as "pls" etc), the second time was ghosted. Then I got an official rejection today days AFTER the decision deadline has already passed... the whole process was just so unbelievably unprofessional and left a bad taste in both mine and all of my current professors' mouths. I ended up getting into a much better program so alls well that ends well for me, but I would highly discourage future applicants from applying... if this is how they treat their applicants, I doubt their PhD students are prioritized by the department. In any case, this whole process was not worth the headache. Thank god they waived my fee, at least I didn't lose any money on this :/

Have a MS and BS from top physics programs. Had applied for CMP-Th, I was looking to change and do not have a lot of background in that field. Interview in January. I have 4 physics papers and 1 math paper (all first author) in reputable journals. Strong letters of recommendation from different advisors. The interview was a bit weird, the PI I interviewed with knew I was new to the field and asked me some rather specific questions about his own research. Guess they wanted someone who could contribute right away? I was told by email that I was on the short-waitlist and then that there will be no more offers for the Fall.

Waitlisted in February but eventually got rejected. Received a nice email from DGS. A bit disappointed as I was holding on to another offer for this one.

I've been checking the portal every 20 mins for probably two months. Maybe longer. I got the email today that the faculty recommended me for admission. Good luck to everyone who applied.

From the beginning till now, NOT A SINGLE WORD from this department. DO NOT APPLY unless profs really fit your research area. 120+ dollars thrown in water. Might as well have donated them to charity. It is Aplir 18, I have not heard anything from them. No communication at all. Neither in the portal nor via email. Extremely unprofessional. I would expect our application fee to at least worth a written rejection letter? This is a joke. But anyways, got into somewhere suitable w amazing funding.

Ignore waitlist. Has anyone heard anything recent from Arizona State, William and Mary, or South Carolina? Complete silence from them.

Has any waitlisted applicant heard from Johns hopkins civil engineering department yet????

first of all, the decision is super late. second, they didn't send an email or anything, checked portal and there was a one sentence response. "Your application has been reviewed, and the committee has denied admission." rutgers is a fucking mess and I'm glad I dodged this bullet
