Very good student from top French university (Ecole polytechnique). None of us got in, even the best. Good LoRs, good motivation letter. No idea what happened.

Received an email from the DGS. GPA is from Master's degree.

3 years of research experience, one first-author publication, one second-author publication, and an REU at SB. No MS offer, generic email rejection.

Notified by email that I was waitlisted but that there was a "very good chance" I would be offered a position if interested, and asked if I would be interested. Not sure if unofficial acceptance or not, as I am declining.

Is there anyone who will reject the offer? plz do so that it can roll.
