rejected from Ph.D. and accepted to MA instead

Rejected from their PhD program, but accepted for an unfunded MA. They made me the same offer last year—sorry, but that's not going to happen!

Directed to portal via. e-mail where an acceptance letter was waiting. Funding was indeed not really addressed like previous poster noted... Have a PhD offer so will be declining. (3a/0w/7r/1p)

Accepted into English/WGS track; Rejected from Language and Literature track Undergrad GPA 3.3 in Spanish Literature and World Language Ed at a school ranked in the 60thish percentile (according to usnews) MS GPA 3.6 in Secondary English Education at same university MA GPA 3.8 in Literature and Cultural Theory with a WGS Graduate Certificate at same university I failed student teaching Spanish in undergrad and again in my first master's degree. I also failed my first master's project. Made up the project retroactively in MA. Briefly discussed history of poverty and mental illness in personal statement as well as an openness to a possible future in alt-ac career. 3 Letters of Rec, one about pedagogy-related strengths, two from relatively famous scholars. I hope this gives some of you underdogs a little hope. I'm still shocked.

Dream program. WL by email. If you are accepted and planning on declining, please consider declining quickly; it would really relieve a lot of stress for me.

Received a letter stating they would not be accepting doctoral students for the Fall 2021 cohort due to COVID-19; remaining an adjunct still looking pretty good right about now; 0a/6r/1w/2p

Nice and personal email from director. Waitlisted for funding but accepted into MA. This is my only choice because I cannot leave the area so if you have other offers/don't want the position help a guy out!!!!

A polite, generalized e-mail rejection citing numerous applicants this year.

TTPB: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Harvard sends typically sends their rejections a week or so after they send acceptances / waitlisted. So for those of us still waiting to hear, we are likely waiting on a rejection. (But let's hope I'm wrong!) Best of luck, everyone.
