- Accepted into English/WGS track; Rejected from Language and Literature track Undergrad GPA 3.3 in Spanish Literature and World Language Ed at a school ranked in the 60thish percentile (according to usnews) MS GPA 3.6 in Secondary English Education at same university MA GPA 3.8 in Literature and Cultural Theory with a WGS Graduate Certificate at same university I failed student teaching Spanish in undergrad and again in my first master's degree. I also failed my first master's project. Made up the project retroactively in MA. Briefly discussed history of poverty and mental illness in personal statement as well as an openness to a possible future in alt-ac career. 3 Letters of Rec, one about pedagogy-related strengths, two from relatively famous scholars. I hope this gives some of you underdogs a little hope. I'm still shocked.
