Notification to check portal followed by generic rejection letter

Short email to check status, not too bummed! This one was a stretch for my research interests and a selective program to boot! 0a/1r/6p

Two publications, a master's degree, tons of conferences, some high profile awards, one of my recommenders went there and knows the faculty well, and that wasn't even enough to get on the waitlist. Just shows you how random and difficult this process can be. Kudos to all who got in!

GPA undergrad

Attended Cal for undergrad, GPA is MA, no GRE. Pretty short, to the point message. "Thank you very much for applying to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Yale University. I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission. As you know, the very high number of extraordinary candidates far exceeds the number of places we have in each program, and we are not able to admit many excellent candidates. We wish you every success in all your future endeavors."

I was not interviewed, and I am not sure if they interviewed everyone, but it seems some or all were. At this point I will assume I was rejected.

Very kind email! Happy to be on the waitlist if it means I could still get into Berkeley as they're one of my top choices. The record so far: 0a/0r/3 waitlist

Received an email stating my acceptance. Funding email to come along with whether or not I have been selected to be a TA. (3a/2r/7p)
