Political Science, Ohio Wrote to the Graduate Admissions Director and received the following response: Our graduate admissions committee reviewed your file carefully and felt that you are very promising as a student, but the American Politics field didn't find that you were a good fit for the expertise in our department. I thought that you would be a good fit for working with one of our comparative politics professors, RB, but she informed me that she is leaving the department at the end of this academic year, which means that we would not have a faculty member who could provide you with the guidance that you deserve for your PhD studies. I'm afraid that all of this means that you were unfortunately not admitted or nominated for a fellowship in our department. I'm not sure why the graduate school portal doesn't show you a final decision, and I wish I had better news for you. I am confident that you will be successful, and that your research and work will be important and influential.
