Hep-th, specifically string theory. 3 years of research experience in hep-exp. I attend a top 5 uni for physics.

Ignore Waitlist. I have seen a few notifications from NW about acceptances and waitlist. If we have not received any request for interviews, or notifications for waitlist or acceptances, does that mean a rejection? Or are they still in the process of deciding? I don't have a very stellar application, but was very hopeful for NW.

Interviewed with POI on 2/06, waitlist notification via email. Pretty bummed since I thought the interview went well /: Does anyone know how common it is to get off a PhD waitlist?

Hep-Th. Very grateful to have other offers from good unis. To the other hep-th applicants caught in the bloodbath, it seems to be becoming the norm to take a gap year for (unpaid) research and reapply because of how competitive things are. Keep your chins up!

Applied for hep-th + quantum gravity. 2.47 undergrad GPA, but rallied and got a 3.9 in a good M.S. + four publications + strong recs + work experience as a FAANG engineer. Don't lose hope!

Ignore waitlist. Has anyone who applied for quantum information heard back yet?

Applied to HEP-TH. Had 1 first-author publication in my field and contact with a professor there. Extremely sad and disappointed. Been rejected by all the schools I wanted to get into. HEP-TH selection is hard and criteria makes little (though I could obviously be biased.)

received an interview request to check my english in order to teach at Cornell at Friday, submitted it yesterday and email with acceptance came today

Ignore status. Given the exceptionally high capacity of this year's application, does it mean that if we got no message from a school at this point we are being waitlisted? As far as I know this year's waitlist is almost equal to late rejection.

Whatever. Got accept it in other places now.
