Philosophy Graduate School Admission Results

GPA is grad. Got an nice email from Hillie saying "people in your position are very likely to be admitted". Also the funding package is very specific in the email. Very excited as below because Hillie and J.L. Dowell are among my favorite philosophers! However, I am a bit negative about the waitlist because people in the last cycle reported that most offer holders didn't decline so the waitlist barely moved. Don't know whether the situation this year would be better. Best of luck to everyone!

Paraphrase: 'Hi. I wanted to personally reach out and let you know that you are about to receive a letter from our department, a letter that you have been diligently and anxiously awaiting, which will let you know that you can finally relax because - as the letter shall explain - you have been... rejected.' GTFO here. Don't send applicants a pre-rejection letter, FFS.

Got a 'nice' email from Matthew Kotzen, informing me that a formal rejection is forthcoming. Lol. Why bother?

grad GPA is 4.0. Given that I applied to some more heavily "continental" leaning schools coming from a more "analytic" M.A. program, it may have behooved me to ask one of my undergraduate professors for a letter.
