Graduate School Admission Results

Was on the top of the waitlist for Global Social Change. PoI told me that the Dean's Office ordered an end to any additional offers due to budgetary concerns, almost certainly caused by the huge rise in stipends. An already small department gets even smaller.

I just received the email saying I'm still on the waitlist and this sentence really make me confused:" As you consider your options for next year, you should be aware that, unfortunately, it is unlikely that we will be able to offer you a place in our next entering class." anyone know what it means? Is it saying I cannot apply for this program next year even if I being rejected this year?

Rejected via email/letter after 2 months on the waitlist

Contacted by 2 professors (11/21/23, 12/30/23) Had 1 informal interview (1/8/24). No communication since then. Received email to check status on the portal

I don't know why this rejection came so late. Generic email.

Generic rejection, the odds were not in my favor. No research experience or publications. Currently employed full time as a statistician - might pursue a masters degree instead. Congrats to all who've been waitlisted and/or accepted!
