Graduate School Admission Results

Anyone know if they will be sending out more offers, or does anyone know if anyone has declined recently?

An insider, who was "Interviewed" and "Near the top of the waitlist". Becca once told me that the size of the waitlist is 50, and 25 are defined as "near the top". I also just received the "April 12 decision" email, and I believe at least 20 received this email. It means nothing. They are disgraceful.

Applied 7. rejection in 4, 3 still waiting. Things not looking good this season.

My GPA was mediocre/below average tbh and I had a few C's in my record (which I elaborated in my Statement of Purpose), but I think what made my application strong was not only my high GRE quantitative score, but a relatively strong background related to Statistics and Data Science: while I did have C's in my record (and a couple were major-related as a Computer Science major), I had strong grades in my computational/math courses especially the ones essential to Statistics and Data Science (I'm also a math major as well so I definitely took a good amount of computational/math courses). Also, despite my mediocre/below average GPA, my grades improved every semester since fall of junior year up until I applied for the program, so that helps. I also had a strong programming background, especially being a Computer Science major, and did research and independent study opportunities related to Statistics and Data Science (and I discussed about them in-depth in my Statement of Purpose) as well with a couple of personal side projects. I wouldn't say that I'm an expert or outstanding in Statistics and Data Science yet (more like beginner to intermediate level), but I at least had some sort of foundation or sufficient-enough background for me to somehow stand out in my application. I think the professors and my independent study mentor, who I asked to write letter of recommendations for me, like me enough to give me strong letters of recommendations (I couldn't see since I waived my rights for all of them), so that definitely helps. I will not be attending there due to location and even high price (tuition and travel), but I hope what I have here helps for future applicants. :)

had a phone call too about interest in attending

International applicant, BSc and MSc at top3 Canadian university. Good gpa and reference letters. I posted about my waitlist status here before. Yesterday I emailed again to check for updates and today got the rejection email from the admission office. Talked with my POI and was told that there were only two international spots for the entire dept. this year, and the priority goes to the younger professors. Tough year, and best of luck to all others who are waiting for results!

Received the same email as below from Becca George about still in consideration. And TPB who's accepted: congrats! Did you receive the top 5 candidates or any communication beforehand?

Received an email on March 5th, stating I was accepted into the program by the Master of Public Admission. I received my final decision email on April 7th, and to wait for an official letter sometime this week. As of right now, I did not receive any funding nor submitted my (poor) GRE scores.

So shocked because I literally interviewed yesterday!

I was rejected for Summer 2021. Experience in the schools as a bachelor level Speech Language Pathologist.

I was interview late feb, still haven't heard a thing after mailing the dept and the PI who took my interview. Anyone with the same experience?

Today I was emailed by two universities, one rejection and one acceptance. I received an email of unofficial acceptance with a five-year funding offer. Double major in mechanical engineering and physics. TOEFL: 101/120. I took GRE in 2018 but didn't send any results. One publication at a leading journal in my field and a preprint at the time of application. No more waiting for McGill to announce the results. I will accept the offer. Good luck to all. e-mail from Becca George that I am still on their waitlist and they are looking forward to accepting around 20 more people. Wisc is my top choice as of now...fingers crossed
