Unfortunately, I have to let you know that we have concluded making all the PhD offers we will be able to make this year and will not be able to make you an offer to join the PhD program. The limitation on the number of offers we can make is mostly financial and we recognize that there are a large number of excellent students who could thrive in our program, but that we cannot admit to the PhD program at this time. I hope that you will receive offers from other programs and find a good path forward to pursue your scientific interests. This email is not an official rejection letter, you will receive an official notification from our system in the coming weeks, but as that will take a while to process I wanted to let you know of this decision as soon as possible so that you can make other plans for the coming academic year. Did anyone else get an interview invitation from this school? Does anyone know if they do interviews with all the applicants or only with some filtered candidates? I was asked for a 15 min brief interview with two professors from my subfield. (I'm an international student)

ignore waitlist. has anyone heard back from MIT physics yet? they said decisions would come out by 1 march...

Applied for AMO; 9 mos. research & 1 poster in non-AMO field; 2 summer research internships; no MA offer.

Applied for quantum information Ph.D., have 4 years of astrophysics research, 1 REU, 1 nonrelevant publication, Master's in Applied Math (~3.8), plus research experience in quantum at gov't lab. Got Master's offer.

CMT. No publications. No p/GRE.

Theoretical Astrophysics. Unofficial email. Offer letter will be sent after graduate school finalizes admission. GPA is from master's. Research on master's thesis for 1.5 years. Publication on that will be in the future. Also, was TA for 2.5 years. Undergrad was in Mechanical Engineering.
