English minor, health allied major. Had some excellent recommendations and a strong resume (volunteered teaching creative writing to high schoolers, some publication history). I did specifically mention wanting to write with Rita Dove, but heard later from a mentor that apparently her health is suffering right now and she is not teaching very actively, which may have affected their consideration. They were my #4 school. |

wasn't expecting to get in because they really value the GRE scores and what you look like on paper, but holistically, I would say I was qualified. I had 361 hours of undergrad research, including 3 presentations, clinical abroad experience, extensive involvement with the ASD youth population, a variety of extracurriculars, and worked part time throughout my undergrad. |
