University of Michigan Graduate School Admission Results

To the international student who asked for advice below: Actually I am in the same situation as you, I am also an international student who got accepted into the fast-track MS with no funding. They said if your grades are good in the first year then you will have a chance to get funding for the second year, and all PhD students (starting from third year) will get funded. Since I want to research in statistical genetics, this is the best place to go so I had no choice but to accept it. I know the costs are really tough, especially without tuition waived. But I think nothing much could really be done... If you cannot afford it then you should probably decline it. You can leave a contact in the comments if you are still undecided. All the best!

DMA - Rejection email. Odd wording, though: "I regret to inform you that your application for admission ... has not been approved. We are therefore unable to offer you the opportunity to audition." One of my recommendation letters (frustratingly) arrived over 2 weeks late (on 12/16/14), so I wondered if the application itself was not approved on the grounds of being incomplete...?

To the Robotics PhD poster below, may I know if international students were also invited to the visit day?

Got this mail: "The University of Michigan Data Science Master's admissions committee has carefully considered your application and noted your substantial academic achievements. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer you admission to our program. We thank you for your interest in our program and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors."

PI notified me by phone, no interview; formal offer came by email two days later.

Masters of Science in Information acceptance via generic email. No info on funding yet.
