Rejected for PhD. Guys, did you all get recommendations to apply to the Research Fellow programs? Is it just an ordinary rejection, or indeed only selected candidates received invitations to apply to Research Fellows?

Congrats to everyone who got in! I had a hunch this was coming. Although I was hopeful for getting in, nevertheless, I will have to look at other admits that I get. Statistics work a fine way I guess. Stanford will give admits on last Friday of February and rejects on last Tuesday.

Making a good decision is more important than the effort you put. 4 years back if you chose Berkeley, UIUC, UCSD, Waterloo as undergrad school and also chose CS major, you now have greater chance of getting in than others who come from a top school outside of US, or a top school in US but not strong in CS or who aren't even CS major.

Looks like I won’t be staying at my soon-to-be alma mater. Now, I’m excited for the opportunity to be exposed to a new research environment. Congrats to those who got offers, and good luck to those who are deciding to attend!
