Computer Science, University Of Texas At Austin Rejected from UT, UW, and CMU but accepted into Stanford! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think with this admissions cycle due to all the applicants there will be a lot more variance in where we get accepted or rejected to.

Computer Science, Stanford University CMU graduate with above average GPA. I was applying with 6 publications (First or second author) 2 in top-tier conferences and won a best paper award in ACL for one of my papers. Got a generic rejection email.

We appreciate your interest in our PhD program. Today we are writing to inform you that our PhD admissions decisions have been made and the applicants we have selected for admission to the PhD program have been notified. Admission to our program is very competitive, and we received many good applications; unfortunately, we have to limit the number of students we admit. At this time, we do not anticipate extending further offers of admission to the CS PhD graduate program for Fall 2021. If for any reason that changes, we will contact you. If you applied for "PhD or Masters" then you will hear from us again around the end of March / beginning of April regarding your Masters application.
