Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University Got admits from CMU MIIS and MSAII. The expensive program coupled with a lack of funding and a restricted subset within CS hurts me. Prolly gonna withdraw my acceptance. Hope this waitlisted benefit from this. Awaiting decisions from GTech and Stanford

Computer Science, University Of Illinois Urbana Champagne (UIUC) International Student from a Tier 3 University in India. 8 publications including 2 from AAAI, 2 from EMNLP and 1 from CVPR. Google Summer of Code student in the past and mentor for 2 years. 3 internships in top AI Silicon Valley startups. 3 strong LORs including one from Head of Department and one from GSoC mentor at DeepMind. Not sure what I did wrong

Computer Science, Brown University To the above two posters; I mean, you haven't been rejected, so keep waiting and keep your head up. I would say that I don't think it's likely, which is why I started taking extra measures. If all you have are delayed PhD decisions at this point, you should definitely be making some last-minute applications and contingency plans. There are a few PhD/Masters programs that are still open, so keep an eye out (Tulane PhD and UF MS, I think, are still open). In my case, I had another option, but a Brown masters would have been preferred due to the faculty alignment for my interests. If that is aggressively the case for you (for Brown or something else), maybe consider taking a gap semester/year and re-applying if this cycle doesn't work out. Good luck, honestly. Times are interesting.

Computer Science, Columbia University TTPB who asked: Columbia MS CS or Harvard SM Computational Science and Engineering Definitely Columbia MS CS, since the SM CSE at Harvard is only 1 year, and isn't really a CS degree. (I'm assuming you want to do something CS-related after your degree) Also, did you get a Harvard SM CSE Admit this year, or was it a deferred admit?
