Recent Graduate Admission Results March 2021
Computer Science, Stanford University Cal Tech EE undergrad. Was rejected from most other programs (Berkeley MS CS, Cornell MS CS, Yale MS CS, CMU (CS, CDS, ML), UChicago MPS (lol), etc.) so this is a nice surprise. This and USC are my only acceptances and I'll definitely be going with Stanford. Best of luck to everyone

Computer Science, Columbia University TTBP: I'm one of the acceptances below that said I have 3 years of work exp in ML Engineering. I was accepted to the full-time on-campus program, NOT the CVN program. Hope that helps and good luck.

Computer Science, Stanford University Stanford results really are out, people aren't spamming. I got a very weird looking email with the subject "Congratulations" from the CS department. First line was, "Your Stanford ID number is ...". The email had a lot of spacing between paragraphs, they really made me scroll. It was very odd haha, but I am really happy I got in.

Computer Science, Stanford University HCP applicant. 2 years out of undergrad, and have been working at FAANG since graduating. Math/CS double major & 3.8 GPA at mid-tier UC. 1 yr research experience in math, 1/2 year research in CS department, though neither led to publications. 2 software internships during undergrad. Took one SCPD course last year & got an A. Got very strong LORs from research advisor (Math prof from undergrad) & manager at work, and (presumably) alright LOR from SCPD professor. Really didn't expect to get in, but I am really stoked. :-)

Computer Science, University Of Massachusetts, Amherst Tier 3 University from India with 2 pubs and good GPA, LORs, and GRE scores. Didn't expect a rejection considering some of the other admits I received. Very stressful process though urgh.

Computer Science, University Of Massachusetts, Amherst Just checked. Under review became update pending. Want to know if this happened for everyone. If that's the case, then can we assume this is a mass reject wave?

Computer Science, University Of Massachusetts, Amherst Haha, same. It's finally showing as "update pending". I hope that it's not a reject but that looks unlikely. This is certainly one of the worst admission processes of all - why can't they simply release all the admits/rejects at roughly the same time like CMU or other universities.

Computer Science, University Of Massachusetts, Amherst After checking for the 158th time, status changed from 'Application Under Review' to 'Update Pending', which probably means the department made its decision and forwarded it to the graduate programs office. Did the status change for anybody else? This could mean anything - could be mass reject. I don't know, I think I am going to cry ðŸ˜
