Physics, University Of Texas At Austin MyStatus was updated with a new required Supplemental Information document on the 15th. Numerous tries to contact the graduate coordinator to see what this form could be, but no response. Today the form just disappears from the portal, with no notification throughout any of this. Finally got in touch with the Graduate Admissions main department and while on call with them the portal updates to denied. Low key had already started trying to make other plans from this cycle and this had gotten my hopes up a bit too much lol.

Physics And Astronomy, University Of Texas At Austin I have a Master's with a cgpa 3.98. Physics GRE 990/990 with 95% percentile, and GRE 322/340. I have two research papers in theoretical high-energy physics. However, I want to work in theoretical condensed matter physics. UT Austin told me they don't have a position for theoretical CMP and offered for the experimental. So I am gonna turn down this offer. I got a total of 8 admissions, UT Austin, U of Florida, Rice U, Colorado Boulder, TAMU, UTK, NCSU, and U of Alabama. Only TAMU, UTK, and U of Alabama offered me theoretical condensed matter physics. Finally, I decided to go with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Happy to have a position in my desired field.
