Economics, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) Really unexpected, good luck to all still waiting. Also got the NSF message but very unclear what this means for funding . . . does anyone know?

Economics, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) without funding but apparently that's the norm at MIT; they don't announce funding until after NSF has come out

Wait listed Fall 2021 American PhD
Chemistry, Harvard University Hi, no problem. My stats are a 3.98 GPA at a top 5 chemistry undergrad school, one internship in an unrelated field, 3 and a half years of research with a well-known lab, 4 presentations, 2 pubs in preparation, extensive volunteer and teaching experience. Strong letters of rec. Strong statements of purpose and I included my NSF grant proposals and personal statement along with my application. I also included my GRE scores (168:163:5.5 V:Q:W). The prof reached out and said I would receive an official email sometime next week. This was unexpected.

Interview Fall 2021 American GPA 3.96 PhD
Human Centered Design & Engineering, University Of Washington It was an informal interview with a faculty who holds an NSF grant. I was reached out last week telling me that they would like to work with me if I am accepted to the program. It was a long conversation, almost two hours. Not sure what's going to happen. UW is my top choice; my hope is up right now and I am afraid of thing doesn't work out. I am afraid this school is too big for me to handle. I'm already accepted at three other smaller universities (top 200) with funding packages. Now I am waiting for the UW admission result and I know this is going to ruin my sleep at night.

Physics, NDSEG Not too upset, I had been convincing myself I wouldn’t get it for awhile. I made the mistake of getting my hopes up last year with the NSF GRFP. It’s not nearly as bad if you just remain skeptical and remember that just because you don’t get it doesn’t mean you’re not a good researcher :) good luck to everyone who got it!

Chemical Engineering, University Of Texas At Austin I was surprised at how late this is, but I got a call from a ChE professor at Austin who congratulated me on my NSF GRFP award and then accepted me to the program (the order of this news delivery I'm sure is very intentional and I appreciate that they are honest). They explained that due to a humongous class last year, this year they were limited in the students they can accept. I take all of this to mean that because I now had funding, they were accepting me. I did get officially rejected on March 11th, though.... and yes, they did call me on April 1st, but I highly doubt they were joking. I'm most likely attending elsewhere but thanks for your honesty, UT Austin!
