Computation For Design And Optimization (CDO), Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) Rejection by Email. I went to visit them in November, they said that they are taking very few people this year (~10). I probably didn't do enough research in this area. I am wondering what the profiles of the people who get in are like.

We are in the unfortunate situation of having many more qualified applicants than we have spaces for in our program. Therefore, although your credentials are strong, we regret that we are unable to offer you admission to the S.M. Program in Computation for Design and Optimization for Fall 2008.
