Mechanical Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University I had two rounds of interview. The first round was in late February. Next, I had another interview 30 mins prior to me receiving the acceptance letter. I am from IIT Bombay, Master's GPA 4.0 ; NIT Silchar Undergrad GPA 3.6. My work is very closely related to my advisor and co-advisor. I also have work experience in Deloitte and Indian Oil Corporation. (1.5 years in total). Not sure what worked exactly. (P.S. Didn't include GRE in my application. TOEFL score 106: 28R,30L, 24S,24W)

Physics, Carnegie Mellon University I inquired as to my application status on 8 April and waited for them, in order to make my final decision on the 15th. Got no timely response. 3 days past the deadline I get a negative . Thanks for nothing Carnegie Mellon.

Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University I regret to inform you that we are unable to admit you to the Ph.D. Program in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Due to the large number of applications we receive we are unable to provide individualized feedback on your application. The Computer Science Department received over 1700 applications this year, and our program can support only a small number of new students. Human Computer Interaction, Carnegie Mellon University Did not really receive an email, but when I asked few days ago I was told: The Office of Graduate Admissions brought it to our attention that you did not receive a response from our program on the status of your application. An email was sent to you on February 14, 2024 from our applygrad portal. Our apologies that it did not make it to you. Please see the below message from Director Geoff Kaufman: Dear applicant: I’m sorry to inform you that you have not been admitted to the Ph.D. Program in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon. Although it sounds like a cliché, the truth is that we were faced with very difficult decisions this year because we simply had many more highly qualified candidates than we were able to admit. We sincerely appreciate your interest in our program and the time and effort you put into submitting your application. We hope that you are able to pursue your HCI research interests in another way, and we look forward to seeing your future contributions to the field, even if you were not able to make them starting from our program.
