International Economics, Graduate Institute Of International And Development Studies (IHEID) You have got to be some kind of special if you think there is no prejudice going on. Aside from the different times they announced results and almost all the Americans getting in and rejecting the offer I can bet you they let in one or two Africans to seem 'PC'. The Swiss are known to be racist as hell anyway - you're better off not going to IHEID, believe me

International Affairs, Graduate Institute Geneva (IHEID Not going to attend as wasn't in my top 5. All the drama surrounding the school here is entertaining though. Th website and the adcom says grades are the most important thing but seems like thats not the case at all. Would love to hear more about the African applicant's experiences what is the nae of the Facebook group? I highly doubt al of you had such strong grades and weak SOP or letters of recommendation, it's unrealistic.

International Affairs, Graduate Institute Geneva (IHEID) I don't think it is all about "statistics". I had a 3.8 GPA and a 730 on the GMAT but IHEID does not require GRE/GMAT for interdisciplinary admissions so it doesn't matter. In my opinion, motivation letter and references are more important. No grad school is just looking for "book smart" students (except maybe law school).

Development Studies, Graduate Institute Of International And Development Studies (IHEID) To the posters implying that the school is 'racist' or 'discriminatory' stop. You can't know that. Americans are literally everywhere hence why they are represented more in MOST admissions for MOST schools. Asians are also everywhere and there is so many of them so that explains that. Now I don't know what happened with the Africans or why they were assessed earlier but I doubt they are discriminatory towards Africans. I am still waiting for my result and refuse to believe that they would have Kofi Annan head sessions and hold him in such high esteem only to be racist. So stop

International Affairs, Graduate Institute Of International And Development Studies (IHEID) It seems like the school rejected the Africans first and admitted the Americans (Who then rejected the offer) and then all the rest of the results came out? Weird to say the least. Glad a lot of Asians got in though, according to their demographics they do have a large Asian student body which is twice as large as the North American one, but North America is only 2 countries while Asia is 48 so that says a lot too. And only 5% Africans. Either way it is really hard to ignore those high GPAs that got rejected. All >15 of them and none had a motivational SOP? I doubt it. Fishy to say the least.

International Economics, Graduate Institute Of International And Development Studies, Geneva (IHEID) Accepted with a full tuition fee waiver. My GPA is not stellar so I tried to compensate it with GRE (I was told in open day that your Q percentile mattered). I am neither an American nor a fluent French speaker.
